Yes, you'll have to friend everyone over there again one by one, the same way you did here.
As far as I'm aware, you can track DW communities. At the top of the community page, click on "track" and you get prompts regarding where you want the notice of new posts to be sent.
For individuals: If you go to their profile page, on the top right hand you'll see a note for "track account". Mind you I've never tried it, but in theory it should work :)
